So it’s the new year and I’ve been busy doing a million things over the school break. Most of them trivial but some of them important.
The biggest thing is I have joined up with two other nerd minded people to create a collective blog called:
The aim is to have three different people update on different days of the week. I’m Monday’s contributor though I’m not sure what I am going to write about just yet. I have several ideas but none of them I’m truly sold on.
In starting this blog I was really feeling a little overwhelmed. I have started so many blogs and I’ve never been truly good at keeping up to date with them. I also wondered if I should get ride of this one. In the end, however, I thought it would be great to keep this one as I can write about things that might not fall into the realm of “This Nerd Life” stuff. And I can talk about things that are a little more personal to me.
The other big thing is that I am wanting to finish one of my novels this year. I have down NaNoWriMo for many years and I leave the novels to stew and never look at them again. This year, however, I want to complete and edit at least one of them and see if I can find a publisher that wants to publish them.
Those are my two biggest “announcements” so to say.
I’m also working on my productivity. I’m waiting, patiently, for my Passion Planner to arrive. It’s currently held up somewhere waiting for my P.O. Box … which is something that I don’t have so I’m a little confused there. But, it’s been holiday time in New Zealand, which tends to mean that things slow down to a leisurely pace if you get what I mean.
So, among the planning, looking after my nieces, trying to get other stuff done, I think I’ve got my year cut out for me.
Oh, one other thing – I want to travel more this year as well. Even if it’s just across the ditch to Australia or even down to Wellington etc. Seeing more of New Zealand is always a good thing.
What are your plans for this year? I say plans rather than resolutions because … well … because words.
