Currently Thursday 9th April

So we are now two weeks into our lockdown…keeping in our bubbles. Which means I have been talking to my cat as if he were a real person. It also means that I have been dancing around my house and re-enacting film scenes with said cat…which, let’s face it, isn’t that different from what I’d be doing on a normal weekend.

I’m not going to lie though. It has been a weird couple of weeks. I go from being productive and feeling fine to suddenly being overwhelmed by everything. I really agree with what we are doing – especially since my mum is down to her last two rounds of radiation before she has to go in for surgery. Yet, I still find this whole thing so surreal and sometimes quite terrifying. I hope you are all staying safe and well!

I can tick off blog post for today!

I have been relying heavily on my bullet journal to ensure I do not loose sense of time (though that still happens) and to make sure I am doing something other than watching Tik Toks (or making them…I haven’t but there have been moments of weakness!)

So, I thought that today would be a good day for me to do a currently round up.

Currently I am:

Reading I just finished The Executioner by Chris Carter (not of X Files fame.) It’s the second book in Carter’s Robert Hunter detective series. I like the occasional crime thriller and these ones are particularly gruesome but also a fun, keep you on the edge of your seat kind of read. I have a pile of books to choose from for my next read so there will be a little bit of a decision for me to make later on today.

Playing I downloaded Just Dance 2019 and have been dancing up a storm in my living room. I also started a new play through of Fallout 4 which I know I’m never going to truly finish because Preston Garvey has another quest for me. There’s always a settlement in trouble! I’ve also been toying with replaying the Uncharted series…

Watching I watched Tiger King and that was weird. I’ve also been watching Lucifer but am in the early days of that. I also watched The Rad Brad play through Resident Evil 3. It’s a series that I love but I get a little too scared to play – because Nemesis gave me nightmares when I was a teen.

Doing Aside from cleaning and going for long isolated walks I have been writing and drawing. I am slowly working on a novel about a brother and sister who have to make a choice to join their parents in the family business or challenge what they were raised to believe.

Listening I have been listening to Grace Helbig’s podcast “Not Too Deep.” I have also been listening to a lot of musical theatre soundtracks. Two of my obsessions are Six the Musical (about the six wives of Henry the 8th.) and & Juliet which is a pop Opera type.

I’ve also been doing school work for most mornings but have taken a couple of days to rest as we are technically on school break.

My question to you, dear readers, is what have you been doing in this time? What shows, books, podcasts, do you recommend?

Let me know so I can add it to my reading list.

I hope you are all well and staying safe.

XJaime
